During your trip
Checking in, getting help when something goes wrong, and returning the car the way you got it.
Checking in and the pickup scan
Check-in opens 24 hours before your pickup time. It takes a mileage and fuel reading, your own photos, and a guided 14-shot sweep of the car.
If the car is not as described
Report it from your trip page and you are offered a credit, a partial refund, or a swap to another car on the spot.
Getting help in the middle of a trip
Your trip page holds every way to reach someone: the message thread with your host, the trip assistant, the incident form, and our phone number.
Roadside help, accidents and breakdowns
Call 911 first if anyone is hurt. Then use the Emergency and incidents panel on your trip page to reach us by phone and file the details a specialist needs.
Returning the car
Check out from the trip page with a return scan, a mileage reading, and the fuel level. Bring the car back with the fuel it had at pickup.
Late returns and extra charges
Late returns are billed at 1.5 times the daily rate for each late day started, after a one hour grace. Every extra charge comes with a 72 hour window to dispute it.
