Checking in and the pickup scan

Open your trip and tap Check in for this trip. The button appears 24 hours before your scheduled pickup.

What check-in asks for

• The odometer reading and the fuel or charge level.
• Photos of the car as you found it.
• A guided sweep: front, rear, both sides, all four corners, all four wheels, the dash, and a close-up of the odometer.

The sweep takes about two minutes. When the car has been scanned before, each shot ghosts the earlier photo over your camera so you line up the same angle. All 14 angles are required before the scan will submit.

Why it is worth doing properly

Your pickup photos are the record of what the car looked like before you drove it. Anything already there and clearly visible in your shots is documented as pre-existing. Get close on any scuff, chip, or curbed wheel you find, and add extra photos to your condition report if something needs more than one angle.

Mileage and fuel

The last step asks for mileage and fuel level. You can shoot the instrument cluster and have those read off the photo, but check the numbers before you submit. Your typed mileage is cross-checked against your odometer shot, and a large gap gets flagged.

Your host does their own check-in on the same trip. The two sets sit side by side.
