Returning the car
Tap Check out from this trip on your trip page when you hand the car back.
What checkout involves
The same 14 shots you took at pickup, plus the odometer and fuel level, plus any photos you want on the record. Shoot the return sweep where the car actually ends up, in decent light, before you walk away. Once you have left, you cannot add angles.
Fuel
Return the car at the fuel or charge level it had at pickup. Levels are recorded in eighths of a tank, and there is a one eighth grace. Come back more than one eighth low and each missing eighth is billed at a flat 12 dollars. Topping up on the way back is almost always cheaper.
Mileage
Your listing includes a set number of miles per day (or per hour on an hourly booking). Anything over that is billed at the per-mile rate shown on the listing. Your trip page shows miles driven against your allowance once both sides have checked out.
Cleanliness
Bring it back as you found it. Trash out, sand out, no smoking. Hosts can issue a cleaning charge if the car needs more than a normal turnaround, and that charge comes with the same 72 hour dispute window as any other.
After you check out
Mileage and fuel charges are worked out once both you and your host have filed return readings. Your security deposit hold starts releasing after checkout unless a claim or dispute is open.
