How booking works

Find a car

Search by location and dates from the home page. Filter by price, seats, transmission, fuel, instant book, hourly rentals, and delivery. Cars with a minimum renter age above yours are left out of your results.

Set up the trip

On the listing, pick your dates and your pickup and return times, then choose where you are getting the car: the host's own location, one of their saved pickup spots, or delivery to an address you type. Checkout is where you add extras, name any additional drivers, enter a promo code, and leave special requests.

Book or request

Some cars have Instant Book. Those are confirmed the moment you pay. Everything else is a request: your card is authorized, the host has 24 hours to answer, and if they do not, the request expires and the hold is released.

Before pickup

The exact street address is shared once your booking is confirmed. The security deposit hold goes on your card in the day before the trip starts. Check-in opens 24 hours before your scheduled start time.

What you can still change

Dates, drivers, pickup location, and delivery times can all be changed after booking by agreeing with your host. The cancellation policy that applies to your trip is shown at checkout before you pay, with the refund tiers spelled out.
