Drivers and eligibility
Who is allowed behind the wheel, the age rules that change from car to car, and how extra drivers get added and verified.
Who can drive the car
Only the people on your trip's authorized driver list may drive. You are on it automatically, and anyone else has to be added and verified.
Adding a driver
Add a driver at checkout or from your trip page. They get an invite link, verify themselves, and the trip is then priced on the least-safe driver's FanScore.
Minimum age for each car
You must be 18 to have a FanCars account. Each car also carries a host-set minimum of 18, 21, 25, or 30, and 25 is the default.
License and insurance requirements
You need a valid driver's license, front and back, and an active insurance policy. Both have to still be valid on the day your trip starts.
Removing a driver
You can remove an additional driver before or during the trip. If they were raising your price, you have to formally state that they will not drive.
If a driver is not verified at check-in
You cannot check in while an added driver is still pending. Either they finish verifying, or you remove them from the trip.
