If a driver is not verified at check-in

Check-in is blocked while any additional driver on your trip has not finished. The message names the people holding it up.

The two states that block you

• Invite sent. They have not opened their link or created an account yet.
• Account linked, [verification](/help/getting-started-renting/getting-verified-to-drive) pending. They accepted, but their license, insurance, and camera check are not approved yet.

Only Verified clears the gate.

What to do about it

Chase them first. Copy their invite link from the Authorized drivers panel and send it to them directly. If they already have an account, all that is left is driver verification, which most people clear in about a minute.

If they cannot be reached, or they are not going to make it, remove them from the trip. That clears the gate straight away, and you can add them again later, including mid-trip, if plans change.

Do not just hand over the keys

Removing someone from the list so you can start the trip and then letting them drive anyway voids coverage for the whole trip and leaves you responsible for any damage. If they are going to drive, get them verified.

Avoiding it

Add your drivers when you book. Verification is quick, but a document that needs a human reviewer can take up to a day, and the night before pickup is a bad time to find that out.
