License and insurance requirements
Your license
Photograph the front and the back. It has to be current and unexpired, and the name on it has to match the legal name on your FanCars account. An automatic check reads the name, date of birth, number, and expiry date off the images, and anything that does not match what you typed goes to a person to review.
Your insurance
You need an active policy. Upload either your insurance card or your declarations page. The declarations page is the better choice: it is the document that states your coverage limits and your deductible, and it gets you through faster.
Your deductible is not just paperwork. Your security deposit on every trip is your deductible plus 500 dollars, so the number on that page is the number that turns up at checkout.
Staying valid
Documents expire. If your license or your policy runs out before a trip you have already booked, you are warned when you book and blocked at check-in until you re-verify with current documents. Re-verifying is the same flow as the first time, and you can start it from your account.
For additional drivers
Everyone you add to a trip goes through the identical process on their own account. Your documents do not cover them.
