How verification works
You verify before your first trip, and it takes a few minutes.
What you provide
- Your legal name, date of birth, and insurance carrier.
- Photos of the front and back of your driver's license.
- A photo of your insurance card or policy document.
- A short live camera check, where you follow prompts on screen so we know it is a real person and not a photo of one.
What we check
An automatic check reads your license and pulls the name, date of birth, state, class, and expiry off it. Another reads your insurance document for the carrier, the named insured, the policy dates, and your deductible. Then:
- Your license is checked for being in date, and your policy for being in force.
- Your face from the live check is compared against the photo on your license.
- Your license is checked against every other account, because one license means one account.
- What you typed is compared against what the documents say.
- Your name is screened against sanctions and denied-party lists.
The result
Your verification page shows a live checklist with each item as it settles. If everything passes, you are approved and can book. If a document is unreadable, expired, or missing, it fails and you can upload again. Anything uncertain goes to a person on our team, and we email you when it is decided.
The deductible read off your insurance document also sets your per-trip security deposit, which is that deductible plus 500 dollars.
When you have to do it again
Approval lasts as long as your documents do. We email you a week before your license or your policy expires. If one does lapse, your approval drops until you upload the replacement, and everything else on your account stays as it was.
