Notification settings
Where the settings are
Open your account and go to the Notifications tab. Each kind of update is its own row: booking activity, messages, trip change requests, charges, deposit holds, reviews, and so on.
The three channels
- Email. On by default for everything.
- Push. Set per device. Turn push on for the device you are holding first, then pick which updates use it.
- Text. Offered on the time sensitive ones only: a new booking request, a booking approved, and your check-in reminder. Verify your phone number on the Profile tab to switch them on.
What you cannot turn off
Six notices always go by email whatever your settings say: account warnings, suspensions, bans, new charges, a security deposit problem, and support case updates. Each of those emails says it is a required notice, so a charge or a suspended account never happens quietly.
If push will not turn on
Push has to be allowed by your browser or phone as well as by FanCars. If the switch does not stick, check that notifications are permitted for FanCars in your device settings, then try again.
