What FanCars is

FanCars is a place to rent a car from the person who owns it. Hosts list their own cars, set their own prices, and hand over the keys themselves.

What is on the platform

A lot of it is enthusiast machinery: sports cars, classics, and cars people have looked after for years. There are plenty of ordinary cars too. Listings name the exact year, make, model, and trim, along with seats, transmission, and fuel, so you know what you are getting before you book.

What it costs

You pay the rate the host set, plus anything you choose to add: a delivery fee, extras, and tax. We do not add a renter service fee. Our cut comes out of the host's side as a flat commission on the rental.

Every trip also has a security deposit, and FanCars sets it, not the host. It is your insurance deductible plus 500 dollars, held before pickup and released after return unless there is an open damage claim.

What a trip looks like

You book, the trip is confirmed, and you meet the host or have the car delivered. Both of you photograph the car at pickup and again at return. That record is what any later question about condition gets settled against.
