Listing your car from a FanCulator estimate

If an estimate looks good, you do not have to retype anything.

The handoff

When the estimate shows the car covering its own value within five years, a "Like these numbers?" card appears under the breakdown with a button to list that car. It carries the year, make, model and trim into your Garage and opens the add-a-car form with those fields already filled in.

If the car does not break even within five years, the card stays hidden. That is deliberate. We would rather show you the math than talk you into a listing that loses money.

What still has to happen

Adding the car and renting it out are two separate steps.

1. Finish the car. Check what FanCulator filled in, add the specs and some photos, and set the car's home city and state. That puts it in your Garage.
2. Open the car and choose Rent on FanCars under "Put this car to work". This is where the VIN is required, along with at least three photos and your daily rate. The VIN sticks: changing it later takes a support review with a photo of the VIN sticker.
3. Publish. An automatic check looks at the car and sorts it into a tier, which decides where it shows up in search.

FanCulator's suggested rate is a starting point, not a rule. Set whatever you want, and change it later.

Comparing first

You can estimate several cars in one sitting. Each one is added to the comparison table, and the break-even chart overlays them, so you can see which car is worth listing before you commit to anything.
